Financial Policies

Clarity
The cost of your care will be made clear. While it is impossible to foresee every potential outcome when planning your care, we will inform you when there is a risk of additional problems or costs. Openly and honestly discussing the cost is part of determining the best care for you.

Payment
Payment is due the day services are provided. We accept cash, debit, and most major credit cards. 

Financing
We do not provide loans. As an alternative, we can sometimes arrange for prepaid installments and then start on your treatment plan when 50% of the estimate is paid, with the balance paid in further installments until treatment is completed. 

Third-party assignment
As a courtesy, we are able to bill most Canadian insurance carriers directly for the portion of treatment covered by your dental plan. You are responsible only for the cost of treatment not covered by the plan (known as the “co-payment”, or “deductible”). Dentists are legally and ethically required to collect the co-payment from patients. Some plans insist on reimbursing the full cost to you directly.

We treat you, not your dental plan
Our treatment recommendations are based on your health needs, which may differ from what your plan covers. It is rare to find a dental plan that covers 100% of the cost of all treatment. Nor will the typical dental plan cover the entire cost of all dental care in a lifetime.

Dental coverage is a contract that was negotiated between your employer and the insurance company for their benefit. We encourage you to know your plan in order to avoid disappointments with payment and reimbursement.

We can help you understand your coverage and assist you in getting pre-authorization for treatment. This will provide you with a good estimate—before treatment starts—of what will be covered by your plan, and what you will have to pay.
