After-Hours Emergencies

For our patients of record, we provide an after-hours number to call for emergencies such as uncontrolled bleeding, uncontrolled swelling, traumatic injury or uncontrolled severe pain. 

On some calls, we might refer the patient to a local hospital that has agreed to initially manage such complaints and then refer back to a dentist for definitive care. Nearly all calls we receive do not require immediate intervention beyond some instructions and possibly a prescription; we then arrange an appropriate appointment at the office. 

For non-urgent concerns that can wait until the office is open, a message can be left after-hours and we will call back the next business day to schedule an appointment. 

Patients can also visit HealthLinkBC.ca to check symptoms online. Or they can call 8-1-1 from anywhere in BC, 24 hours a day, every day, to speak with a registered nurse about their concerns.
