The mission of the Dental Quality Alliance is to “advance performance measurement as a means to improve oral health, patient care, and safety through a consensus-building process”.
This past weekend, Dr. Hird was in Chicago to attend the DQA’s bi-annual meeting the headquarters of the American Dental Association.
This Conference is designed to strengthen in-depth understanding of the quality measurement infrastructure within dentistry by exploring opportunities for system-wide improvement.
This is an emerging area in dental care administration and the conference helped us understand the critical elements and conditions influencing quality improvement and measurement in dentistry, as well as the key components of quality improvement at various levels in dentistry.
We are curious about new concepts and looking for ways to apply them and improve the quality of our patient care.
